Okay. Today was a fabulous day! I got to go with Daddy, Grandma, Uncle Joe, and Grandpa to the Mariners game which they won! It was a fantastic game with the final run being hit in the bottom of the ninth inning...Richie Sexton hit a home run to get ahead of Boston. HOORAY! So exciting and Grandpa said it was one of the best games he'd been to at Safeco field.
And while the game certainly was exciting, what happened before it has left me speechless. Daddy, Grandpa, and I went to a brunch for Children's Hospital. It was to honor donors who give to the Circle of Care program which helps raise lots of money so kids like me can get the best medical care available in the Northwest. I got to be there as part of 3 children who are (or were) patients at Children's Hospital. It was a very big honor for me to represent all the kids of Children's Hospital. The emcee of the brunch was none other than Steve Pool (my favorite weather guy~ KOMO) and they even told a little of my story. About how I got a heart operation (and even my surgeon was there) and that Children's Hospital helped save my life. Very cool. I also made a new friend, Madeline, who was one of the other patients. Madeline has had two liver tranplants and is feeling much better because of Children's Hospital. She was a nice girl. Grandpa got to talk with Mr. Howard Lincoln (only the CEO of the Mariners) and Daddy talked with lots of people including my heart surgeon. He said thank you for what a great difference he has made in my life. I have to second that! Thank you Dr. Gordon Cohen!! Your family is very nice too.
But what was also very exciting was that former Mariner players were there to help with the event. I got to meet Dave Valle, John Olerud, Edgar Martinez (he really is as nice as he seems), Rick Rizz, Bill Krueger and (drum roll please)...THE MOOSE! It was so exciting to meet these Mariner players. Mommy tells me bedtime stories about them (she is a big fan and is still very sad she couldn't come) so I was excited to meet some of these Mariner legends. Thank you so much to all the Mariner players and radio personalities for posing for pictures with me. In particular, I personally want to thank my new best bud, the Moose. You made me feel right at ease and I can't wait to share the pictures of us together with everyone!
To wrap things up, it was a GREAT day! Thank you to Eve from Children's Hospital Foundation for extending the invitation to us. We were honored to represent Children's Hospital and it's patients. It really was a good day. We appreciate everything.
