Busy Day for Mommy

We were busy today and Mommy ventured out with Jonah and I for the first time by herself. First we went to my OT appointment where I saw Eileen. She was very excited to see the progress I've made. I'm moving all about on the floor, sitting up very well, putting rings on toys, rotating around to look at different things, know lots more signs....to say the least, she was very impressed. In fact, I've learned so many new things, that all the activities she had planned for me to learn today, I had already done. So we got to play on the swing (my favorite toy of hers) and I played on the ball. She also gave Mommy some new playtime (aka therapy) ideas to help with some more development.

After my OT appointment, Mommy took us kiddos to Jonah's 2-week doctor appointment. She laughed the whole 20 minutes we were there because it was so strange to have a "normal" appointment with the pediatrician. Jonah is picture perfect in the health department whereas my pediatrician appointments are much, much longer. I did steal the show with the doctor for a little bit because I signed my favorite song..."the itsy, bitsy spider" for him. He was impressed. Then he made Jonah cry by poking him but that only lasted for a second. Jonah handled it like a pro. I talked him through it since I'm an expert at pokes, shots....pretty much all of it. I was proud of Jonah. He was a very courageous boy today.

After the pediatrician, Mommy got really brave and went grocery shopping. We had to get milk (yummy) and so off we went. We were on our best behaviour and even got complimented on by several fellow shoppers on how good we were. Hooray for us!

So even though we were adventurous with our trips, Mommy was very tired today. Jonah kept her up almost all night. She was already pretty sleep deprived so she tried her hardest to get us to take our naps at the same time. Sure enough, she got a 20 minute nap in herself! Hopefully, she'll get a little more sleep since Jonah was awake for a good amount of the day. She'll keep you posted....

Off to bed. Night, Night.

Hi Dylan,

Sounds like you had a big day with little brother and mommy. I bet you really blew the Dr. away with your signing. That is soooo good.

Kristy, hope Jonah will get his days and nights in order before to long. That makes for long days when you don't get any rest.

Love,
Carolyn in WV
