A day at the beach!

Today, instead of going to Children's Hospital (my appointment was cancelled), I went to school. We had a field trip and went to the beach! We visited the beaches of Birch Bay which Mommy nor I had ever been to. Our teacher, Meril, says that this is her favorite trip of the year and now I understand why. Not only was it a long beautiful beach but there was so much to see and do! We played in the sand and the water and there was such a wide display of marine wildlife. I watched baby crabs climb around and looked at oysters but there was much, much more to see. Mommy says we are going to have to go back to explore some more soon.

Class was especially fun because I also got to spend it with my good buddy, Max! Hooray! It was good to see Max and Mommy is so amazed at how good he is doing. He has great head control now and even is starting to sit up a little bit. All that work that Max's Mommy is doing with him is really starting to show...she is truly amazing. We even got to see Max do a little happy dance which made us feel pretty special!

At the beach, Max played in the sand with his feet....I was a little more adventuresome. At first, I played in the water with my feet but then, I decided to go all out and do a face plant. Mommy had to laugh and Max didn't seem to mind that I got him all wet with my splashing. Pretty soon, I was laying in the water, drinking the salt water, pushed the sand around, and even tried to eat the sand but Mommy wouldn't let me. Mommy had to give me a bath when we got home and she was amazed at how much sand one diaper can hold!

Thank you to Meril for putting this field trip together. I had such a great time and look forward to it again next year! Here are some pictures (courtesy of Max's Mommy...Thanks Amy!) to show you just how adventuresome I was! I can't wait to see what I can do next year. Maybe I'll get everyone to join me. We could build a sand castle, splash water, jump puddles....Mommy better bring a towel next year!

I just love the beach!

This sand stuff feels pretty cool. Can I try a bite, Mom?
