Trying to have a baby

Mommy has been pretty funny this past weekend. We've gone for walks, gone blackberry picking (anyone need some blackberries), gone shopping, gone to picnics, went to a bridal shower, ate lots of spicy food, mowed the lawn twice (ran out of gas too), AND even went to a civil war re-enactment where she stood very close to the cannon. STILL, no baby. Not even a twitch. Grr. Daddy and I are just standing back watching her. She's been pretty funny.

Mommy is also a little embarrassed right now. You see, she had a weird mole show up on her upper lip a couple of weeks ago that kept bleeding. The doctor explained that this is related to the pregnancy and it will go down after the baby is born. It is a bunch of blood cappillaries that have pushed their way up to the surface. He gave Mommy a stick to hold on it the next time it bled and it would cauterize it so that she wouldn't have that problem anymore. Well, sure enough when it started to bleed, she held the stick up to the mole and it did stop bleeding. BUT, it caused an allergic reaction with the surrounding skin causing it to become black! It is looking better although it hurts a little but Mommy has quite the scar on her upper lip right now. She's not interested in having her picture taken~! Hopefully, it will be better soon because it is VERY obvious. Poor Mommy. Going out in public has been a little hard for her....oh how she wishes for a simple pimple. That would be so much better.

Mommy did venture out in public though and we got some pictures of the civil war re-enactment that our friends were in at Hovander park. We'll post those soon (although our camera ran out of batteries before we got some good pictures of our friends). We hadn't been to one before and it was very interesting. Our friends were dressed up in traditional Confederate clothing and participated in the battles. We saw a battle where the Confederates and the Yankees ended in a draw. Stephanie, who's 13, dressed up as a soldier and we watched her shoot a twelve gauge shotgun in the battles. Very impressive. Miss Emily and Miss Rachel showed me their beautiful dresses and even took me back to their camp. That was pretty neat to see. Then we watched their Daddy, Sam, be "arrested" for a crime against another soldier....he "ate" his dog. Thank you for inviting us Porret family. We learned a lot! Sammy did an excellent job helping park cars!

So "Baby Watch 2006" continues but tomorrow is the day that if Mommy hasn't had the baby, the doctor was going to break her water. So "Baby Watch 2006" is almost over. HOORAY! I'm going to be a big brother! Gotta go, I'm going to get ready for school.

Kristy,
Hope the water breaks soon. Not much longer. Sounds like quite the weekend you had there. Love to you and saying prayers for easy birth.
