So today was eventful. It started at 5am this morning (after Jonah kept Mommy up late) because my mouth was hurting me. I woke up crying and then once Mommy made me feel better, I just decided to stay up. She tried to get me to go back to sleep but I had missed her all night long, ya know.
But I'm happy to report that I now have 7 teeth (they just keep coming) and 3 more are about to pop through. And we were worried about my teeth coming in late. Silly! They are just coming in all at once.
At school today, we practiced learning how to use forks while eating our snack. But when Mommy wasn't looking, a buddy of mine got a little excited and started waving his fork around...right up my nose. I had a little bloody nose and all is well. But how many people out there can say they've ever been stabbed UP the nose with a fork? It's definitely unique.
Given that "unique" was the theme of the day, we also did some painting for our project at school. We were to paint a cardboard house but instead of painting that, I painted me. Oh, and Mommy too. Yep, you could say our hands are blue just like the smurfs.
After school, we went to an office party for one of Mommy's co-workers. Except I was a wee bit tired from school and my nose hurt so I wasn't in the best of moods. Let's just say we dropped off the cupcakes and ran for the door. Damage control is what Mommy calls that. Wonder if they noticed the blue hands?
But I did take a nap as soon as my little head hit that carseat. When I woke up, I was magically in my bed. Hmm, I wonder how that happened. But while I played Sleeping Boy (Sleeping Beauty is too girly), Mommy tended to Jonah who managed to throw up on her not once...not twice...but FIVE times today. He had some major gas too so he had a little tummy ache. We didn't know such a tiny body could make that loud of a noise and clear out a room! Mommy, what did you eat?!? If there was a contest for that, Jonah would be the clear winner!
So Mommy was running out of patience and after realizing that she hadn't eaten all day decided we were eating out. So I had another unique first. I had my very first Happy Meal. Mommy sadly reports that I loved it too! Mmm, Mmm!
Daddy called today too! He was in some very exciting places the last few days. Iwo Jima, Guam, and Thailand. He was hoping to be able to spend some time in Iwo Jima to sight-see a bit but no such luck. But we are VERY excited because his relief showed up and so that means he is heading home! He'll be home Wednesday afternoon. Yippeee! He doesn't know it yet, but he's fixing the kitchen sink when he gets home. It started to leak today. And there's a problem with the well...hurry home Daddy! The sooner you get here, the faster Mommy is putting you to work. That and we miss you very much.
To end our day, I decided I didn't want to go to bed. So I stayed up until 10pm. Jonah stayed up late too. Mommy is hoping that maybe that means we'll let her sleep in a little tomorrow. Nah! Have a good night everyone. Who wants to bet we get up early?

Yep, you had a very very eventful day. Hope today is a better day for mommy and everyone gets the rest they need.
Dylan, with the blue hands, we may have to call you, Mr. Smurf. Glad you enjoyed painting and your Happy Meal.
Super nice that Daddy is coming home. He will see a big difference in you and Jonah.
Hugs,
Carolyn in WV
Oh Dylan,
Your first happy meal. I bet mommy thought you were such a big boy and that was mini-milestone for you. I am so excited for you that your daddy is coming home. I bet mommy, and Jonah must be excited too, but especially mommy.
Hugs to you and your family
