I'm a Signing Maniac!

I am learning signs for new words everyday now! Just yesterday, I learned to sign "yes" and "no" to a song that we sing at school. I also am signing "horse", "car", "toot-toot", and I even signed "chair" this morning.

I'm also making up my own signs to get what I want. Two days ago, when my speech therapist was here, I wanted to go up our slide but I needed her to push me up. To get my point across, I pointed to my little bum while leaning on the slide and then shook my tush just in case she didn't get the message with my pointing. Mommy and my therapist were laughing so hard that they almost forgot to push me up the slide. Jeesh.

I also am doing a little more vocally as well. I learned what a cow says! When Mommy asks me what a cow says, I respond with "ooooo". I don't have the"mmm" part but we are working on that. Yesterday, Auntie Jodel swears that I said "up" when I wanted her to pick me up! Maybe I'll give Mommy a repeat performance of that one so she can hear it for herself.

I'm getting to be quite the communicator. Maybe I'll be a public speaker when I grow up! We'll see...
