Our Busy Weekend and one AMAZING Concert

We have had a very busy weekend so far. And it is not even over yet! Mommy had a concert last night and then today, I got a new bed. Mommy and Daddy went shopping while Grandma and Grandpa watched Jonah and I this morning so they could go get the bed. I had fun with Grandma and Grandpa. They played with me and played with me some more...okay, Jonah too. We like it when they come and visit. Then when Mommy and Daddy came home, Grandpa helped Daddy put my new bed together. Grandma loved cuddling with Jonah who is getting to be more active and interactive. He smiled for her and showed her his big belly laugh. He's pretty cute!

My new bed is actually a crib that converts to a toddler bed since I'm not quite ready for just a conventional toddler bed just yet. My old crib is now Jonah's since he has gotten too big for the bassinet. Jonah is not even three months old yet and he is wearing nine month-old clothes. He is is growing so fast, Mommy hasn't even been able to get him to wear all of his outfits before he's outgrown them! I also got to try out my new bed right after Grandma and Grandpa left. I took my first nap in it.

But Mommy wanted to share with you an experience she had that is not like any other. She played in a concert last night with a local symphony. It featured a percussionist who is completely deaf and Mommy wants you all to know that she was absolutely AMAZING! The percussionists name is Evelyn Glennie and Mommy encourages you to check her out. This woman was incredible. She plays by feeling the vibrations and Mommy said she plays better than all of the hearing percussionists she's ever met. Ms. Glennie is also the first percussionist in the world to make a career as a solo concert performer in the percussion field. This is very hard to do for any musician and did I mention that this woman has also won a Grammy? The concert performance for the symphony was pretty good but this performer made Mommy's night! Wow!! She performed Schwantner's Concerto for Percussion and Orchestra...WOW! This is a very difficult piece and is was quite a show. Kudos Ms. Glennie for such a fine performance and being such an inspiration to other musicians! Mommy was ecstatic to have played with you.

Kristy that is so cool. I read that to son. He thought it was cool.

Dylan,
I am so happy for you and your new bed. Mommy will have to get pictures. How was your first nap? Feel fully rested?
