I'm Grounded

I'm in big, big trouble with Mommy. Today while we were doing our grocery shopping at Fredmeyers, I lost my glasses. I gave them the slip somewhere between our trip through the Apparel section to the Freezer Section. We searched that store for a whole hour looking for them. All the employees were helping (we are regulars there so they were eager to help) but to no avail. They are gone. $200. Shall we say "clean-up in Mommy's purse?".

So tomorrow, if the store hasn't recovered them (which is looking more and more unlikely since they have our phone number) we will go to the glasses shop and get some new ones ordered.

But Grandma and Grandpa find this kind of funny. You see, Mommy got in similar trouble when she was a kid for the exact same thing. They reminded her of that....several times.

But even still, I'm grounded. No, really. I'm grounded. You see, we have a house rule. No glasses, No videos. No exception. And I like to watch my video after dinner.

Oh, how Mommy hates to see those glasses go. She has spent many tears and heartaches over them. Superman glasses....you'll be missed.

uh oh Dylan,
Please tell mommy you are sorry. Very Sorry and you didn't mean to lose those darn cute superman glasses. I will pray that they find them while they are cleaning tonight and call mommy in the morning. I'd go up there right now if I could to help look kiddo.

Hugs Dylan..

Oh, no, Dylan! Perhaps in the future when you go shopping you should leave your glasses at home.

Oh Dylan,
I sure hope they find your glasses so you can watch your videos. I hope the store employees look really good, maybe they got kicked under the shelving.
Saying prayers for Dylan and Kristy,

Kristi,

In our office we have a special "package deal" for kids just like Dylan, through our lab. Polycarbonate lenses and a frame--with unlimited replacements of the same prescription--all for one price (I think it's around $150). The catch is the frame selection and the range of prescription are somewhat limited. Maybe Dylan's eye doctor has a package like that.

I ran over Cameron's glasses and they were replaced - at no charge...they said the first pair was free (whew!). I didn't know that when I purchased them. Maybe you have the same deal?
