Fredmeyers called Mommy this morning just as we were walking out the door to go to my dentist appointment. She had her checkbook in hand because after that, we were going to order up some new glasses for me since I had lost mine at...Fredmeyers. The timing of their call was perfect because they had gone through some extraordinary lengths to get my glasses. You see, I did lose them in the freezer section (like Mommy had thought) but they were UNDER the freezers. So the very, very nice people at Fredmeyers actually disconnected the freezer, took out some product to make it lighter, and then moved it all so I could get my glasses back. They had heard that Mommy had called every morning seeing if anyone had found them. Their extra effort is so great and made Mommy very happy.
Before we went to get our glasses, I went to the dentist. And it was so great! They were so patient with me and my oral aversion issues. First, we went to a playroom and watched kiddos playing and having a good time. Then we watched a movie with puppies showing us all the fun things they do at the dentist. Then I got to go into my own room and played some more. There was stuffed animals there with teeth and I brushed their teeth and looked in their mouths with mirrors. After all that, the dentist came in and we played for a little while. I showed him my songs and to Mommy's big surprise...I opened my mouth a bit so he could look in! WOW! I have irregular shaped teeth. When I get more comfortable, I will get x-rays done to see what else may be going on in there. The dentist also suspects I'm missing teeth which can happen with kiddos like me with an extra chromosome. But I'm making up for it with extra big teeth (the ones that have come in so far are on the larger side). We'll get to know a little better after a few visits. Mommy was very proud of me today. I did a good job!
After the dentist, we went and got my glasses from Fredmeyers. Mommy is going to send a thank you note and a letter to the management. I wasn't too happy myself about getting my glasses back but then Mommy bribed me with a little whip cream from her mocha. I wore them after that.
So I got to wear my glasses to school and show them to all my friends. I kept them on pretty much the entire class. I was very excited to see everyone since I haven't been able to go for a while due to my cold/infection. My buddy, Max, even showed up for a little while. It was great to see him and you'll never believe all the cool stuff he can do now! He gave Mommy "Hi-Fives", clapped, and showed me how he can walk with his Mommy's help! What an inspiration. I am still learning how to take steps while bending my knees (right now I try to do it with my knees locked which isn't very productive) so to see him walk like that was just amazing. Max and his Mommy are just an inspiration to us. They even gave us a cool book that Amy made which has pictures of me, Max, Jonah, and my school buddies. Mommy had to hold back because she almost cried when she saw it.
Gotta go. I'm going to visit Auntie Annette tonight for a few hours so Mommy and Daddy can go out for dinner. They are celebrating their Anniversary a little early since they are both working on Wednesday. Plus, I have a video to watch! Hooray for my glasses!
