Daddy and the Door

Hi Everyone! We are sorry it took us so long to write to you. We've been super busy and we've got some great stories to tell. First, we'll tell you about Daddy's birthday.

Daddy's birthday was last weekend and we had lots of friends over (thank you: Jayna, Doug, Kacy, and the Vance clan). It was so great to see them all and everyone has very busy schedules. So it was extra special to be able to get together with everyone especially since it was Daddy's birthday.

After everyone left from visiting us, we had to leave to go visit our family for a big birthday dinner. But we were in a bit of a hurry and that is always a recipe for disaster. You see, I'm fascinated with doors. I love to close them. So when Daddy ran out to take the diaper bag out to the car, I went after him to shut the door. Except Daddy didn't know it so when he came rushing back in, he hit me square on the forehead. Mommy isn't sure who cried harder...me or Daddy. I'm okay and I now have a great bruise to show off! I've even noticed it makes me an even bigger hit with the ladies. My good looks, great charm, a little drama, and some sympathy...yep, big points with the ladies.

But we did make it to Daddy's birthday dinner (actually, I made it to the babysitters while Mommy and Daddy made the dinner). So all was well in the end.

Happy Birthday Daddy. Jonah and I love you very much.

Here are pictures of my forehead:

This photo was taken a couple of days after the Door Disaster. It looks much, much better.

I'm okay. And I've got the smile to prove it.

Oh my Dylan, glad you didn't have to have stitches and glad you are OK. I'm sure Daddy cried more than you. (Happy belated Birthday Daddy)

You and your family sure has been busy. Super fun with family and friends.
