Heart Event Monitor

The decision by the cardiologist at Children's and our Pedicatrican was to order me a Heart Event Monitor. This is a small item that looks like a mix between a credit card and a pager.

If/when I have another breathing 'episode' then what Mommy is supposed to do is grab this monitor and hold it up to my heart. After the 'episode' is finished, she then presses a button on it which then sends it to the heart monitoring company via satellite. Then the company puts it online for the cardiologist to see and then we can have a better idea of what is going on with my heart!

Mommy is hoping that we won't have to use this monitor but feels good that it is one step closer to finding out what is going on with me. It's not a fix but certainly will help with a diagnosis.

Two things:

1) What about a monitor at night so you can truly rest and not be worried. The alarm would wake you up if he has an episode.

2) Have they thought about a halter monitor for 24-48 period to catch it...in case you don't?

Thinking about you...

Dylan and family, I'm praying and thinking about you all. I'm in agreement with Amy, maybe they need to try that.
