Puppy Attack

We had something very disturbing happen tonight. Our dog, Elsa, got attacked by coyotes. This is the 4th time that Mommy knows of that they have been close to the house and now she knows without a doubt that they are not afraid of us. And that makes them very dangerous. Fortunately, our other dog Jack barked loud enough and Mommy made lots of noise running out of the house, that the two of them scared the coyotes off so that Elsa was not seriously injured. She is limping and will probably go visit the vet but Mommy did not find any broken skin or bite marks.

Mommy is seriously talking with Daddy about getting a .22 gun. All that we have in the house right now is his service revolver (when it's not in his gun locker at work) and another very powerful revolver that Mommy is not comfortable with to operate. We are going to borrow a .22 from Grandma and Grandpa as well as another one from Uncle Robin. Since we are technically in the 'county' and not in city limits, it is not illegal to shoot the coyotes if you are protecting your family and/or property. Animal control also really can't (or won't) do anything about it so it is up to us to solve the problem and Mommy has her mind made up. She's going to shoot. Without any hesitation.

Coyotes beware. Mommy is VERY protective of us kiddos and since you have now demonstrated that you are dangerous...she has put a bounty on your head.

By the way, Elsa and Jack got lots of love tonight. And we got to stay up past our bedtime to give them some extra attention. Thanks Puppies!

OK Kristy, get your gun. Yep, they are to close to the house. And to think they aren't afraid of people.
Hugs to you and yours,

Kristy,

Sorry to read about your critter troubles. You may also want to consider a high powered air rifle - not the air soft, but those with pellets. Some are as powerful as a .22
But a .22 rifle will also be quite effective and can be used for fun things like target shooing too.
