Trip to Seattle

Yesterday was a big day in Seattle for me. Jonah got to visit Grandma and Grandpa all by himself (what a treat!) while Mommy and Daddy went to Children's Hospital with me. There I got to have my ears checked out, my heart looked at, and I got to flirt with many, many girls. I was a shining star!

First, the report from Children's is excellent! My ears are most likely going to need new tubes but we'll go back in a couple of months to finalize that. But my heart was the big event and the greatest news!

Most of you know that I had an open-heart surgery at 4 months of age to repair a AV and VSD leaks. Although the first surgery was a big success, my mitral valve has been growing weaker as I age and leaking more as I grow older. It was determined a couple of visits ago that I'd need another heart surgery to repair the valve but just not sure when.

Yesterday, we found out that although the valve will still require repair (at some later, later, later date), the valve has been doing very well the last 6 months. In fact, although its leaking still, the rate of leakage is now holding still. Meaning its not getting worse like it was before. That is REALLY good! REALLY REALLY REALLY good news considering that I have gone through some serious growth spurts! We are still going to monitor it and go to Childrens again in few months to see if my heart gets any bigger or is affecting my lungs, or the leaking starts to get worse again. But if things remain the same, that is REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY good!

Yoo Hoo! Can you hear Mommy screaming and doing her happy dance?!?
