The biting started happening a few days ago (which explains why Mommy hasn't posted anything on the blog). The first time it happened, I bit Jonah's back so hard it bruised. I got an immediate time-out. But when I did it again later that afternoon, Mommy decided to use the soap. She wants me to understand that there are consequences for biting. Spanking will just reinforce hitting and obviously, the time-out was not a showstopper. So, she brought out the hand soap.
Where on earth did she get this idea? Two places. The first is one that pretty much everyone has experienced once in their life...learn a new word and use it around your parents....wham! Soap in the mouth. But Mommy also learned that to teach puppies to not chew on pillows (Elsa's favorite), you need to make them taste bad. Sour apple spray did the trick for Elsa. So why not make biting taste bad too. Bite my brother...get some foamy teeth. Add a time-out to it and hopefully, the biting will stop very, very soon.
Poor Jonah has been bitten four times in the past three days. Once on each arm and two bite marks on his back. Since he also ran into the coffee table yesterday which gave him a little bit of a bruise over one eye, Mommy is wondering what people think of her when we go out.
But to add to my very clean mouth, Jonah and I also got some spectacular haircuts today. Our big boy haircuts look fantastic and Mommy will show you pictures soon. They were done by our buddy, K's, Mommy. She's so great and my Mommy is very happy to get to know her! And she is very patient with us kiddos who weren't too happy about getting out locks snipped. We'll show off our new haircuts soon. But don't be surprised if you see a soap bottle nearby in the pictures. Hopefully, they won't be around for too long.

Oh Dylan! I hope the soapy stuff does the job, you really don't want to spend your fun time in timeouts. Hope to see you guys soon.

Hi Kristy..
Blue Eyed Pixie bit the heck out of Dragonboy when they were little. My daycare lady gave blue eyed pixie a special teething ring and told her when she felt like biting to bite down on it and not brother..She reinforce the biting the teething ring with stickers for positive reinforcement that she was not biting brother. It worked. I carried through at home and within a week we got her onto the teething ring. It lasted about 3 months and then she lost interest. She quit biting everything. But boy dragonboy came home with bruises one day I was so livid and called up my friend asking what happened to him. She said she didn't see anything so she watched. When dragonboy got attention she (Blue eyed pixie) got jealous and bit him..She didn't catch it before.
Don't know if it will help or not.
Hugs to your family...You're in our thoughts.
