Are you all ready for this? I said "hi".
This is HUGE, GIGANTIC, ENORMOUS, BIG, REALLY BIG!!!! I said "hi" not once but at least 20 times. This has been such a huge work in progress. We are talking months of speech therapy and even more intensive attention to it since my oral apraxia diagnosis. Mommy and Daddy have been WAITING for this day. And it finally is here. I said "hi".
It started with Daddy trying to get me to say it while playing some games. I said it once but Mommy's reaction was so crazy and wild that I did it again. When she reacted another time, it just took off from there. I was even trying to get Jonah to say it. I wave my hand...and say "hi".
So it doesn't matter that Mommy is really sick today. It was one of the best gifts she could have gotten to make her forget she was not feeling well. I said "hi". Mommy definitely felt better after that.
So my vocal repretiore has increased. I can now say "ooo", "ie-yi-yi", "aah", "dada"...and now, "hi". My signing has been getting pretty spectacular too. I can now sign over 70 words including some colors (I'll even sign rainbow for you) and some action words too like walk, run, dance, and jump. Just the other day, I told Mommy to not be grumpy and to laugh. I did this all through signing to her.
"Hi". I bet Mommy is going to take me to the grocery store so I can tell my favorite check-out clerk that. Won't that be a surprise!
