Dylan's Definitely Mobile!

So Dylan has been "creeping" backwards for quite a while now but this last week or two, he has decided that maybe he can belly crawl forward also. In fact, his new morning game is to lie in bed with Daddy and I and pull up on his knees. Then he will LAUNCH forward like a frog moving from one pond leaf to the other. This was a shock and so much so, that Mommy has the sore nose to prove it. Dylan LAUNCHED right into it just the other morning.

This LAUNCHING had been limited to his morning game but over the past couple of days, we are seeing it during his bathtime as well. And to add to it, he is rocking on his hands and knees during bathtime because he likes to see how he can make waves.

But this new mobility is cause for some interesting (and sometimes scary) places for Dylan to end up when Mommy has turned her back. Just yesterday, while Mommy was putting clothes away, Dylan ended up under the bed. Not just a little bit under, but way in there and Mommy, pregnant tummy and all, had to go in to rescue him. Today, while Mommy washed his bottles, Dylan found the dog food and checked it out to see how yummy it was (apparently not very because he put it back). Numerous times, Dylan has ended up under his crib.

To add to his mobility, Dylan is also getting very fluent in his ability to sit up from a down position and the reverse. This has made diaper changing a whole new experience. If you're not quick enough, the kid will be diaperless, up, and starting to creep under his crib. We're not too sure how to take this little revolt staged by Mr. Dylan. He must really like the "free willy" feeling... a little too much.

Both of these are major accomplishments for our little guy. We can't wait to share it with his therapists Eileen and Janice. Hopefully, we'll have a report coming to you soon that he is crawling! Won't that be exciting! Uh oh, better get that baby proofing stuff finished.
