Good News!

Just so it is officially known, Mommy didn't get "clucked" at today. Not even once. Phew. What a relief that was.

Today was a pretty good day. It did start off a little early which Mommy wasn't too happy about (she was up all night with Jonah) but other than that, no major problems. In fact, we went to a New Baby Reception for Down syndrome Outreach, got lots of laundry done around the house, and cleaned a bathroom. Mommy has also decided being a red-head has it's benefits and she really likes the length of her new "do". It is pretty short but it was very easy to maintain today.

I also showed Mommy all my new signs that I've learned this past week. I've learned how to sign "baby", "sleep", and I'm very close to signing something very important. Drum roll please...I can almost sign "Mommy"! I actually did it a little bit but I do get a little confused with signing "Mommy" and "eat". They are close to the mouth which throws me off sometimes.

Mommy and I have also developed a new "therapy" game. In order to address my problem of not turning to look at someone when they call my name, Mommy came up with the "Name Game". Here is how it works: She and I will sit next to eachother and she will call my name. If I don't look, she will move me so I have to see her. Then the moment I look at her, I get tickled. I laugh so hard when we play this game so Mommy is hoping I'll starting looking at people when they call me very soon. She is hoping to have this issue resolved quickly because it makes her very, very nervous. But it seems to be working (maybe?). While we were at the New Baby Reception today, "S" called my name to take my picture...and I looked. Hooray for me!!!! Mommy was getting a little discouraged but maybe our new game is working. She'll keep everyone posted.

Another big tidbit of news for the day: I ate my dinner. But it wasn't that I just ate my dinner. It didn't end up on the floor, in my lap, on Mommy, etc. I ate ALL of it. Mommy is still in shock.

We also had another big accomplishment. I went to sleep without too much of a fuss. Our night time battle had a temporary cease-fire. Hopefully, we can reach a peace treaty soon regarding our "going to sleep" differences.

Speaking of sleep, it's time to hit the crib. Yawn. Mommy is pretty tired too. Night, Night.
