Mommy's birthday actually went better after our little "poo fiasco". Jonah and I actually took a nap at the same time giving Mommy a moment to herself (she caught up on chores, work, and read a little). Daddy then took her out to dinner while us kiddos stayed at a sitters. All was well.
After returning home from the dinner and putting Jonah and I to bed, Mommy then proceeded to let the puppies out one last time before heading to bed herself. It had been a long day and she wanted to get back to her book. But he puppies must have felt really bad that they hadn't gotten her a present cause they tried to catch one for her. It was fluffy, furry, and all black with a white stripe going down it's back. Yep, a skunk.
Daddy didn't notice at first and actually let the puppies in the house. That is when Mommy explored her now-ever-widening vocabulary letting Daddy know it was time for the puppies to make a quick exit. Considering that Mommy has the worst sense of smell ever, it just emphasizes how quickly they got the boot. Right to the garage where they can have an adventure and spend the night.
Mommy is now patiently waiting for the air to clear while Daddy goes to bed. All the doors and windows are open. The puppies sure finished off Mommy's day with a bang. Yep, she'll never forget this birthday.

Kristy,
What a birthday! I don't know which would be worse... the skunk or the poo :) Can't imagine what they will do for you NEXT YEAR.
Hang in there! Sandi
