Whooping Cough

Here's a phone call you don't get everyday. Mommy got a call today from the Health Department informing us that we've been exposed to Whooping Cough. They then started to ask if we've had any cold-like symptoms. Since we have, it was off to the docs and now our whole family gets to enjoy some nice time at home and savoring the joys of diarrhea from the antibiotics we get to take. All of us.

Great.

Mommy was supposed to go out tonight with a whole bunch of other Moms. It was her first time to really be able to enjoy a night out in a long time. Since a lot of these other kids have medical concerns and such, it was literally a month of planning to get it to work. Now we've got runny noses, sore throats, a fantastic cough....and Mommy gets to stay home with us. Don't misunderstand. She loves us. But a night out would have been nice too.

Mommy is very grateful to have been told of our exposure so quickly. If this is Whooping Cough, we could have easily ended up very, very sick so she is happy to have been told especially in such an early stage of our illnesses. Phew. So there is some positive aspects to this. She might not get to go out with the gals...but she's got two fantastic cuddlers waiting to share some playtime.

Yep. We're all on antibiotics...the side effect about the diarrhea is an understatement! Holy crap! Literally.

As for isolation, since we are coughing, we get to stay home for the entire course of antibiotics. 5 days.

I'm glad you got the heads up on the Whooping Cough. I'm sending prayers for a quick recovery. And hope Mommy and Max's Mommy and the rest of the Mommy's get a girls night out.
Hugs,
